Topic 3- Blogs

I am new to blogging. I have really enjoyed reading everyone else's posts. I think this is a great way for our class to learn about each other and to also get different perspectives about technology. I have always liked the extra knowledge that can be gained from reading posts on the discussion board in blackboard, but this puts a whole new personal and fun twitst on learning.

Topic 2 UEN

I think the UEN website is a great resource for teachers. The lesson plan creator is a useful tool. I also enjoyed looking through all of the lesson plans that are available. I like that you can create your own personal uen page. I think having my own page to reference my own curriculum resources and utilize the lesson plan and rubric creators.

Topic 1- Today's Students

After watching the video clip in class I was very surprised at the percentage of educators who do not teach using technology. I love all of the new gadgets that are used in today’s classroom! The smart board and Elmo are both excellent tools to engage students in lessons. I also think that having the amplification system in the classroom is an essential tool to have. Students love to use the microphone, and I think it really helps to increase student participation and attentiveness. The methods children use to learn are very different than that of previous generations, as educators we have to embrace technology in order to teach our students effectively.
